Warranty and Licence Definitions
This document sets out the definitions for the terms used within the various warranty and licence terms and conditions used by Konica Minolta Printing Solutions Asia Pty Ltd.
ASP
Authorised Service Partner – an organisation that has been recognised
and approved in writing by KMPSA as an organisation capable of
performing repairs to KMPSA products. These organisations have
undertaken training and have access to service documentation and spare
parts in order to provide repair services within or outside of warranty.
Authorised KMPSA Partner
An Authorised KMPSA Partner is an organisation that is authorised by KMPSA to distribute KMPSA products.
Authorised Reseller
An Authorised Reseller is an Authorised KMPSA Partner or a party who
purchases KMPSA products from an Authorised KMPSA Partner for the
purposes of resale.
Business Day
Business Day for the purposes of KMPSA's warranty and licence terms and
conditions means Monday to Friday between the hours of 09:00 to 17:30
in the country in which the service is provided, but does not include
local public holidays.
Consumables
Consumables for the purposes of KMPSA's warranty and licence terms and
conditions are defined as parts of a Product such as toner which are
consumed during the operation of the Product and require replacement
from time to time by a User. These parts and their expected replacement
periods are defined specifically for each Product in the respective
Product Addendum.
Customer
The purchaser of a KMPSA product from an Authorised KMPSA Partner
DOA
DOA for the purposes of KMPSA's warranty and licence terms and
conditions means that the Product was 'dead on arrival' and as a result
unsuitable for use.
Engineer
A representative of KMPSA or one of its ASPs authorised to assess and if necessary repair a Product.
Exchange Warranty
Exchange Warranty is a warranty under which KMPSA agrees to provide a
replacement unit subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant
warranty in the event a Product is determined by KMPSA to be Faulty.
Faulty or Fault
A Fault is a defect in materials or workmanship in the Product which
prevents a Product from operating in accordance with the Product
Addendum.

Maintenance Parts
Maintenance Parts for the purposes of KMPSA's warranty and licence
terms and conditions are defined as parts that are recognised by KMPSA
as having to be replaced within a defined period by a KMPSA or ASP
engineer due to normal wear and tear. These parts and replacement
periods are defined specifically for each Product in the respective
Product Addendum.
OEM
OEM means original equipment manufacturer.
On-Site
On-Site means at the Customer's premises where the Product is in operation.
On-Site Warranty
On-Site Warranty is a warranty under which KMPSA agrees to repair or
replace a Product subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant
warranty in the event a Product is determined by KMPSA to be Faulty
including providing On-Site service, if KMPSA deems it necessary, at
KMPSA's cost.
Product
Product for the purposes of KMPSA's warranty and licence terms and
conditions is any printer, scanner, or other item purchased from an
Authorised Reseller and identified at www.printer-konicaminolta.com/warranty as being subject to specified KMPSA's warranty and licence terms and conditions and includes any Software.
Product Addendum
Product Addendum means in respect of each Product the document located at www.printer-konicaminolta.com/warranty
which sets out the Product specifications, listing of consumables and
maintenance parts and details the available User Product Documentation
for each Product.
Proof of Purchase
A sales invoice, bill of sale or purchase receipt indicating place of
purchase, date of purchase, serial number(s), and description of
Product.
Register/Registered
KMPSA offers a facility for the Customer to register the purchase of a Product at http://www.printer-konicaminolta.com/registration.
For the purposes of KMPSA's warranty terms and conditions, the term
"Registered" refers to the user completing the details of purchase
through this service. The place of registration should be the place
that the product is located and used. KMPSA may require Proof of
Purchase to validate the purchase date.
Revision Level
Revision Level for the purposes of KMPSA's warranty and licence terms
and conditions means any software or firmware updates made available by
KMPSA to a Customer to address any issues with the Product.
Software
Software means any software or firmware embedded or provided with a
Product and includes all Revision Levels, updates, upgrades, bug fixes,
new versions and back up copies and also includes any accompanying
documentation.
Standard Coverage Area
Standard Coverage Area for the purposes of the On-Site Warranty means
within 50 kms of the nearest service location as determined at the date
of purchase.
User
User for the purposes of KMPSA's warranty and licence terms and
conditions is any person the Customer has allowed to use the Product
and perform maintenance as defined in the Product Addendum.
User Product Documentation
User Product Documentation means the documentation which sets out
detailed information regarding the use of each Product including
without limitation the Product specifications, and operational and
maintenance requirements.
